Up the Stags

I went back to my old town.
Twelve years since i moved and i'd been back once. This fact and that it's about half an hour from nottingham on the train probably speaks a lot.
I barely recognised any of the places, i had all these memories i was trying to put into it, but was struggling. Probably cause everything used to be bigger. It's all so close together now.
Back then i was always looking up at stuff. This is a Field mill, home of the stags. next year they'll be in the coneference. in first school we had coaching sessions from mansfield town and as a final treat they took us for a tour.good times, it's a tiny place.

Enrol Now

This is where i might do a part time course in something. I'm not particularly partial to any one thing in this respect.
I Just like the idea. Of learning more than i know, maybe a skill, maybe a language.
Plus, you know, when the photography doesn't work, I'll have something to fall back on.
Maybe a business course, or an accounting course or something boring with security. I wonder if i got good at a language if i could be a translator. A skill with some certainties after the studies are over.
Most of all, out of all the jobs I could have, I'd like to be a pretentious photographer.
Or a Missionary
Who takes pictures

Empty Sweet shelves

I used to buy my jolly ranchers here. one of the last places that sold them round Nottingham.
This is actually devastating.
In my childhood i never imagined not being able to get jolly ranchers. and Fruitangs, one time they started selling fruitangs again in wilkos, then they went away again.
I guess it's hard to see adult life through the eyes of children.
My reality changes all the time.
Stuff is always short lived.
Some of it anyway.
Hope springs eternal.

This is where my big brother, and sister in law had there first date. About 9 years ago.
My brother is 8 years older than me.

I'm cool with this because i can still beat him at pool.

Distractions

Someone famous once said, 'the biggest evil is that of distraction'
Where would we be without Music, Adverts, Television and junk, maybe we'd be ignorant and a little bit bored, maybe we'd be happy.
I suppose if i'm honest i'm ignorant and bored anyway, so really, what is the point.
I spend over one-third of my life in exactly the same place. I wonder if sleep is a distraction. Is a lie-in part of the biggest evil. or was someone famous speaking bollocks.

we all do

Philosphical Musings

Cheers Hugh

Before i decide what the blog is about, i did some research into what a blog actually is.

'A blog (short for weblog) is a personal online journal that is frequently updated and intended for general public consumption. Blogs are defined by their format: a series of entries posted to a single page in reverse-chronological order.Blogs generally represent the personality of the author or reflect the purpose of the Web site that hosts the blog. Topics sometimes include brief philosophical musings, commentary on Internet and other social issues, and links to other sites the author favors, especially those that support a point being made on a post. '

But i dunno, Wikipedia doesn't agree completely either. It describes it as several different things. So what exactly is a blog. hmm.

Brief philosical musing: letting a dog lick your face must be like french kissing your entire neighboorhood. they eat and sniff seriously anything. my dog licked another dogs bum, more than once.

Either way, this was definitely not a photoblog post.

The School Rush

Woke up and opened the windows with the frost looking amazing. urges i cannot explain caused me to go out early and snap a few shots. my 35mm camera ran out of batteries without warning two shots in. Hugh wouldn't have made that mistake but i'm just a novice. had to make do with digital. Anyhow, walking through the busy school rush(there is a school next to my house, a pre-school shares a boundary with our garden, it's noisy in the daytime), so as the kids streamed in for school surrounded by kids was my local play ground. I swung. it's a world gone tipsy turvy.
